The musical sensation that took the world by storm, Les Miserables holds the remarkable distinction of being the third longest-running Broadway show of all time. The story depicts a heroic struggle against tyranny and adversity in late 19th Century France. The central character, Jean Valjean, is released from prison following a 19-year sentence and struggles to find absolution in the face of a world where the righteous are oppressed. Winner of twelve Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Original Score, Les Miserables represents a palpable theatrical celebration of the human experience.
